Happy New Year! Welcome 2008!

It has been a quiet transition into this new year. Christmas came and went along with another year. What a fun filled year 2007 has been for our family. Vacations, cruises, and of course our wedding!

As we enter into this new year more changes are coming whether we are ready for them or not. Jose will be graduating High School this May and Christopher will turn 15 in a couple of months. The boys have changed so much. Chris is getting tall and thin. His schoulders are squaring off and he has lost any baby fat he ever had. He is even shaving his moustache! Jose is ready to take on a new adventure attending Greenville Tech in the fall. He's thinking of a medical profession of some sort. We're so proud of him. Rumor has it...again this is rumor, he might want to move in with Jorge and I. His mom and David may be moving towards the Gaffney/Boiling Springs area and that would be too far for Jose to drive everyday to Greenville Tech. Jorge isn't pushing Jose or even mentioned it to him, but Kathi mentioned it to Jorge the other day. We would be very happy if that happened! We miss him.

Jorge and I are still trying to conceive but at this point, have just left it up to God to bless us when he's ready. I got a little crazy wearing the OV Watch which tells you when you should ovulate and conceive. I would wear this at night as I slept and each morning, Jorge would ask, "What's the watch say?" It will say DAY 1 Fertile, if I am! In any case I also am taking Clomid, 100mg, prescribed by my doctor and peeing on a stick to see if I'm ovulating. All of this clinical and scientific sheduling is taking all the fun out of it...sooooo....I'm just going to relax! That's what eveyone keeps telling me. So for all of you who have told me to relax, I'm taking that advice. Just keep in mind...it's not easy!

Jorge and I have committed to going to the gym at least 4x per week. We haven't actually gone to the gym, but we're committed to going. Baby Steps! Baby Steps! All kidding aside, come hell or high water...we're going tonight! I've also been thinking that if I can lose 10 pounds, it might help us get pregnant sooner! Again...I know...Relax!

Jewel, Ellie and Gracie are all fine. We hope all of you have a wonderful and peaceful 2008. Keep in touch and I'll update more often.

Love to you all...

Happy Halloween!

Time to scare up goodies for those little trick or treaters coming to your door tonight. I have my WIC approved size bag of candy waiting for the little munchinks or Christopher and his friends! Jose is attending parties with Crystal. I don't think I want to see that costume. I'm sure it will be risque.

We ar elooking forward to going to KY for Thanksgiving this year. We haven't been to KY since April for a funeral. I'll be glad to see family and friends. I can't forget to pack a parka for mom and dad's house. It is always meat-locker cold in there.

Jorge and I have already booked our next cruise. We'll be headed to sunny Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Marteen. Jorge hasn't been to PR since he left at the age of 5. Looks like we'll get to visit and see some family while we are there. The next voyage will take place in April 2008. We had to assure Chris he would have his birthday gift before we left. The ship is Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas. A huge ship with lots to offer. Mom and Dad are going along with friends from church, Tammy and David Tester. Should be a great trip and we're counting down the days until we leave.

Ok...what you want to know about the pregnancy issue. Jorge's family always asks when the baby is coming. Well...not this month! I have just read about a great ovulation tester called the OV Watch. You wear it like any other watch and it tells you your best fertile days. This will hopefully take the guess work out of knowing when I'm fertile or when to "make a baby!" We are getting stressed out and I see the dissapointment in my husband's eyes month after month. I/We aren't giving up. This is a dream for both of us and we know God will answer our prayers for a baby. I always thought I would have trouble conceiving, but didn't realize how dissapointed I would be or frustrated. I guess I will just lay it all in God's hands because only He can make my dreams a reality. I know he had plans for us...I just wish he'd clue us in on occassion. In any case, wish us luck and keep praying for us.

Adoption: I know we mentioned adoption earlier and yes...we sent in our application. We have to wait for an informational meeting in January sometime. This takes place in Columbia SC. I kept feeling like we needed to go down this road. So did Jorge. Everyone tells us as soon as we adopt, we'll get pregnant. That's just fine with me. Double blessings is all I see! We'll let you know more as we do. So far, all we've done is prelim stuff.

Honeymooners are back...

We have been back from our honeymoon for a week now and I'm ready to go on another vacation! I forgot how much I love to travel. Jorge does too! We had such an amazing time. It was great to get away from work, laundry, cell phones, laundry oh and did I mention, laundry? Our cruise on the Carnival Glory to the carribean was wonderful. Cozamel Mexico was georgous. We hope to visit there again. Belize was great for the Snerkelin'! That's right I said Snerkelin' Mon! Isla Roatan was a beautiful island off of Hondurous with thick lush vegitation. Jorge and I did a zip line canopy tour followed by time spent at the beach. I had so much fun feeling like Jane and Tarzan swinging through the trees.

After a fun day at sea, Jorge and I took a tour around Freeport Bahamas. I wish we had spent the day at the beach there, but live and learn I guess. Our balcony room was so spacious and our every wish granted. There was so much food on board the ship. I never felt a hunger pain! It wasn't long until our cruise ship headed back home to Cape Canaveral Florida and we were on our way back home to all our babies! We will be posting pictures on the blog soon. We are planning our next trip for the last week of April. Mom and Dad are coming with us as we head to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. This time we will be guests on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas. I've heard this ship is even larger than the Glory. Next Thanksgiving we are hoping to take the boys with us as we go to the Caribbean with any other family that wishes to go. What a great way to travel and see the world. I think we're cruisers for life!
